Split Ring Tatting

Split ring tatting is used to make a row of rings with no chains, where the rings are one on top of another. It's a neat effect and makes nice jewelry.

To make a row of split rings make a regular ring. Than make half a regular ring (a pattern involving them will tell you how many DS to use) and unthread the needle. Using the BALL thread, make the number of DS specified in the pattern. Rethread the needle, and close the ring. I did it with the red and white thread to show the 2 half's of the ring. Doesn't it look cool?

Directions for split chain tatting will come later.
